Most school districts calculate staffing allocations using a simple formula.  This formula has been used for years to determine the current amount of staffing for a school.

The formula looks like:

(School’s total enrollment) / (Desired average class size) = (Number of full time teachers)

Ex: 1200 / 22 = 54.5 FTE (Full Time Equivalent)

But there is a flaw in this formula.  It leaves out many key elements required to successfully calculate correct FTE numbers, such as:

Enrollment by Grade Level

Educational Method

Teacher Contracts

Common Planning

Number of Periods

Dual Enrollment

Taking these elements into account, D2S2 has developed a robust, one-of-a-kind program that is designed to provide accurate solutions to your district's staffing needs.
